David Sherwin

David comes from a long line of accountants including his grandfather, a CMA, who established his own firm and his mother, who is a bookkeeper and business owner.

His accounting career also began at MNP LLP in 2005 where he completed his CA designation where he progressed to a manager role in the assurance team. Transitioning to industry, he joined business acquisition services with Stantec, followed by corporate controller position at All Weather Windows.

David has provided accounting and business advisory services to a variety of clients in industries including non-profit, government, owner-managed business, sole proprietors and small to medium sized corporations.

Chad Frederick

Partner

After completing his commerce degree at the University of Alberta Chad articled with public accounting firms in Edmonton and established his first office in 1985 after completing his designation. Much like our office today, his practice focused on providing responsive, client-focused accounting and business advice through relationships that have sustained through to today.

In 1992, he and his partner developed WinTax personal tax software which was subsequently acquired by Intuit and repackaged as QuickTax (currently marketed as TurboTax). In 2000, after building the software business from the two of them to a staff of over 300 as well as managing Intuit operations in the UK, he made the very difficult decision to move on from his accounting practice to focus on the software business.

In 2009 the opportunity to establish this office with his son was an easy decision.  His passion is consulting with clients in all elements of their business from shareholder matters, financing arrangements, business strategy and system design.

Sarah Roth

Designated Accountant

After graduating from the University of Alberta School of Business, Sarah obtained her CA designation in 2009 while articling at Stout & Company in Edmonton, before gaining some industry experience at an investment firm shortly thereafter.

She then took a career leave to raise two boys, and picked up where she left off when she joined our team. Her primary focus has been full-cycle bookkeeping across many industries, and continues to expand into personal and corporate tax, financial statement preparation and QuickBooks consulting.

Holly Roberge

Accountant

Holly’s work experience has primarily been in the oil and gas industry, providing bookkeeping and accounting support. Her enjoyment of full-cycle bookkeeping is what brought her to our office, and she continually works to improve these skills, including obtaining her Certified Professional Bookkeeper designation and completing the Office Accounting Systems with honours.

She was born and raised in Sherwood Park and lives here with her husband and 3 boys. She loves to travel, including any opportunity to visit Disney World, volunteer with her boys’ marching band, and compose viral photos and videos.

Terri-Lynn MacAhonic

Accountant

Born and raised in northern Alberta, Terri obtained her accounting diploma and small business certificate at NAIT. Before joining David’s team in 2017, she was a rental technician, amongst various other occupations.

She now lives with her husband and son in Sherwood Park and enjoys sewing, knitting and all things crafty.

Michael Kennedy

Accountant

Born and raised in Edmonton, Michael graduated from the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean in 2017 with a bilingual bachelor of commerce. Since then he has worked in public practice providing tax and accounting services to a wide range of clients and industries.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and taking in as many concerts as he can.
