Jake Frederick

Jake began his professional accounting career at MNP LLP in 2005 where he completed his CA designation. Initially he focused on preparing and reviewing financial statements and corporate income tax returns, including tax-minimization and compensation planning for owners.
He then transitioned to the specialty tax group, spending an additional two years of indepth studies, and undertaking corporate reorganizations, business merger and acquisition transactions, corporate succession and individual estate planning.
His passion is working closely with his clients in all aspects of their business. His time away from the office is spent with his family, keeping active, playing drums with his band, and photography.

David Sherwin
Partner
David comes from a long line of accountants including his grandfather, a CMA, who established his own firm and his mother, who is a bookkeeper and business owner.
His accounting career also began at MNP LLP in 2005 where he completed his CA designation where he progressed to a manager role in the assurance team. Transitioning to industry, he joined business acquisition services with Stantec, followed by corporate controller position at All Weather Windows.
David has provided accounting and business advisory services to a variety of clients in industries including non-profit, government, owner-managed business, sole proprietors and small to medium sized corporations.

Chad Frederick
Partner
After completing his commerce degree at the University of Alberta Chad articled with public accounting firms in Edmonton and established his first office in 1985 after completing his designation. Much like our office today, his practice focused on providing responsive, client-focused accounting and business advice through relationships that have sustained through to today.
In 1992, he and his partner developed WinTax personal tax software which was subsequently acquired by Intuit and repackaged as QuickTax (currently marketed as TurboTax). In 2000, after building the software business from the two of them to a staff of over 300 as well as managing Intuit operations in the UK, he made the very difficult decision to move on from his accounting practice to focus on the software business.
In 2009 the opportunity to establish this office with his son was an easy decision. His passion is consulting with clients in all elements of their business from shareholder matters, financing arrangements, business strategy and system design.

Sarah Roth
Senior accountant
Sarah graduated from the University of Alberta School of Business and obtained her CPA designation in 2009 while articling at Stout & Company in Edmonton. After gaining industry experience at an investment firm, she returned to public practice and joined our team, where she has now been for over a decade.
As a senior manager, Sarah works with clients across a variety of industries, with a focus on personal and corporate tax, financial statement preparation, year-end accounting, and managing client files from start to finish. She enjoys the problem-solving side of accounting and bringing all the details of a file together.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, staying active, and cheering on her sons in their various pursuits—including plenty of time spent at the hockey rink.

Holly Roberge
Office manager
Over the past decade, Holly's role has evolved from bookkeeping to managing client relationships, training clients and staff, and helping businesses improve their accounting processes and day-to-day operations. She enjoys problem solving, improving workflows, and finding practical solutions that make things run more smoothly.
Holly also serves as the Executive Director of both Northern Empire Performing Arts and Colorguard Collective Edmonton, helping to grow Alberta's marching arts community. She enjoys creating opportunities for performers, volunteers, and families to be part of something meaningful.
A lifelong Sherwood Park resident, Holly enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with family and friends by the pool whenever Alberta weather allows.

Michael Kennedy
Accountant
Born and raised in Edmonton, Michael graduated from the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean in 2017 with a bilingual bachelor of commerce. Since then he has worked in public practice providing tax and accounting services to a wide range of clients and industries.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and taking in as many concerts as he can.

Angie Sweeney
Accountant
Angie returned to post-secondary studies in 2019 and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from SAIT. After relocating from Grande Prairie to the Edmonton area, she joined our team in 2025.
Angie works in bookkeeping and financial statement preparation, where she enjoys the detail-oriented side of accounting as well as getting to know her clients. Known for her warm and approachable nature, she takes pride in making clients feel comfortable and supported while keeping their financial records organised.
In her free time, Angie enjoys reading, playing piano, exploring local trails, and spending time with her dogs. She is also a proud mom to two grown children.
